Derek Walmsley passed away on March 6th, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Roberta; his children: Brian, Diane, Janis, Keith, and Cindy; nine grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
After living through the terrors of war as a child, he came to this country from England in 1954 at the age of 16. He became a citizen of The United States in 1969. He worked on his education to become an engineer.
Derek worked on many projects that took him all over the world. He was one of the smartest men you would have ever met. Nothing was more important than family to him. He was a no nonsense man, however, he knew how to have a good time. He made a friend wherever he went.
He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan who sat many games in the old stadiums. At one time, you could find him sitting in the stands having a conversation with the great running back, Jim Brown.
Derek always shook your hand like he meant it. He always had a smile and a story. He was loved by all, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Remembrance of Life Celebration will be held at THE HOUSE Church at 1520 Bottlebrush Drive, Palm Bay, Florida 32905 on Saturday, March 17th at 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. Please come and share a memory with us.
