

Donald Bruce Haines, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at age 86. He was born on January 24, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Harry Haines and Dorothea Affeldt Champagne Haines. Beloved and devoted, Donald will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Brave and resilient throughout life’s seasons, Donald carried a steady strength inspired confidence in others. Compassionate and selfless in everyday ways, Donald was thoughtful and generous with time, attention, and care—offering support quietly, without seeking recognition.
Don respectfully served in the United States Air Force and honorably discharged from McGuire Air Force Base, in New Jersey. In the private sector, Don utilized his warehouse and shipping experience skill and talents from the Air Force serving in several fields, including transportation freight & logistics, as a truck driver. Hard-working and loyal, Donald approached responsibilities with diligence and integrity. He retired from John's Island in Vero Beach and this moment was captured in the photograph of him relaxing on a park bench.
Faithful and wise, Donald’s presence brought reassurance and perspective, and a calm steadiness that others relied upon. Don attend Church of Christ and enjoyed the fellowship of the Christian community.
Don had a dry wit but lightened up being married to Vicki. Adventurous in spirit, Donald embraced life with curiosity and openness, leaving memories marked by sincerity, kindness, and enduring character. He was extremely talented with numbers and considered "a walking calculator", with his mathematician skills!
He is survived by his beloved dear wife of 48 years, Vicki Catt Haines, 3 daughters, 2 sons, 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren! Don is also predeceased by his beloved miniature Yorkshire Terrier, Bentley.
He will always be dearly loved-his smile, his voice, his strong hugs captured treasures in our hearts. We will miss him and continue to celebrate the gifts of time we all shared with him. Donald loved God and Jesus and now eternally resting in the arms of his Savior.
