Georgia Juanita Eliason, 97, of Rockledge, FL died Thursday (9/4) at her home. A native of Buckhannon, West Virginia, she came to Central Florida from Morgantown, W.V. in 1972. Georgia had worked for the West Virginia University Library prior to her retirement and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While a very young child she had a rough start in life contracting both Rheumatic Fever and Scarlett Fever; but once she conquered her childhood illnesses she was full of life and ready for anything. She enjoyed traveling and would attend any functions that she could. She and her husband spent their honeymoon at the World’s Fair in New York City in 1937. An accomplished musician, she played both the piano and enjoyed experimenting on the drums; enjoyed reading and sewing. She always wanted to spend as much time with her family as she could and they would go camping together as well as be there so she could prepare delicious meals for them.
Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years: Howard Smith Eliason; she is survived by her daughters: Brooke Elaine Gay of Burleson, Texas, Judith Lynne Eliason of Rockledge; grandchildren: Jonathan Eliason Gay of Colorado Springs, CO, David Edward Gay of Orlando; great-grandson: Joshua Eliason Gay of Colorado springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250 Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780
