Jeanne Madeline (Beck) Chelchowski, only child of Stanley and Amy Beck of Essex, England received her school certificate from Oxford University in 1937. She lived in London through WW2 working as a secretary for U.S. Military officers stationed there.
In October of 1949, she immigrated to the United States by way of Canada. She married Christopher Trytko on January 7th, 1950. They had one child, Yvonne who was born on September 22nd, 1950. They made their home in New Rochelle, New York.
She is preceded in death by Christopher. She later married Michael Andrew Chelchowski on February 7th, 1977, and they resided in Tamarac, Florida.
In December of 1978, Jeanne became a United States Citizen. She and Michael traveled the globe, visiting family and friends in England and Poland until 2005 when they moved to Sebastian, Florida and then to Vero Beach, Florida. She was widowed in 2012 and then lost her daughter Yvonne in 2013.
Jeanne was a headstrong, determined woman who always maintained her "stiff upper lip". She described herself as someone who "barely had an ounce of patience."
Her passions were reading, doing crossword puzzles, and entertaining at home. She accepted the large family she inherited thru marriage as her own and her presence among us will be greatly missed. Jeane was a great lady and she lived an extraordinary life.
She is survived by her step-daughters: Eva of Melbourne Beach, Florida and Ania, of Amherst New Hampshire; her son-in-law, Franklin Billera of Whidbey Island, Washington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her cousin, Shelagh Thomas of Surry England.
