Joyce E. "Joycie" Strohl, 89, of Palm Bay died Saturday morning at Holmes Regional Hospital. A native of Cornell, Wisconsin, she came to the Palm Bay area in 1968 from Germany retiring here with her husband who was a military veteran. She attended the Peace Lutheran Church in Palm Bay.
A family person, she always enjoyed being involved and planning family get-togethers, particularly at the holidays. She was well known for being the person willing to baby sit for many in the community and often had a house-full of children. Joyce always wanted to keep her hands busy and did a lot of needlework and sewing as well as many crafts. She also enjoyed traveling and site-seeing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bobbie L. Strohl and two sons: William H. Strohl and Jack R. Strohl.
Survivors include her son: Robert of Palm Bay; daughters: Debbie Rickard of Grant, Mary (Bill) Ellis of Rockledge, Carolyn (Doug) George of Apopka; daughter-in-law: Karen (Jack) Strohl; grandchildren: Natasha Crissey-Akil, Michael Bohm, Ian Klassen, Jared, Jamie; great-grandchildren: Scott Crissey, Hunter, Logan, McKenzie, and Savannah Bohm.
