Mr. Kenneth Joseph Olsen, 81, was born on January 18, 1945, in Orange, New York, and died on April 21, 2026. A resident of Palm Bay, Florida, Mr. Olsen will be remembered with quiet gratitude and lasting affection by those who knew the steady strength of his presence.
In his earlier years, Mr. Olsen attended Our Lady of the Valley High School in Orange, New York, where the first signs of a naturally curious mind and an independent spirit could be seen, traits that would continue to shape the way he moved through the world, always attentive, always observing.
That same courage and sense of duty carried him into four years as a Marine, a chapter that reflected not only bravery, but also the disciplined, meticulous way he approached life. He met commitments fully, held himself to high standards, and proved loyal in the ways that matter most, through steadiness, follow-through, and unwavering support for the people he loved.
In August of 2003, Mr. Olsen married Maureen Newell, and together they built a life marked by devotion and companionship. He also loved his two big dogs, John Snow and Arya, whose place in his daily world was unmistakable and deeply cherished.
Mr. Olsen found enjoyment in the pursuits that spoke to both focus and fascination: guns and time at the shooting range, along with the familiar comforts of mystery and police TV shows. He delighted in Game of Thrones, and he valued, above all, spending time with his family, showing, in simple but consistent ways, the loyalty that anchored his life and the adventurous spirit that kept his interests vivid.
Mr. Olsen is survived by his wife, Maureen Olsen; his son, Kenneth Olsen Jr. (Loren Olsen); his step-son, Robert Newell (Glynis Newell); his step-daughters, Patricia Newell and Kathleen Newell (David Stivers); and his step-grandchildren, Rosemary Etling, Derrick Etling, Gillian Acocella, and Beatrice Newell-Stivers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Witcup, and his father, Alfred Olsen.
Though his days have now come to a close, Mr. Olsen’s legacy remains in the loyalty he lived, the brave steadiness he modeled, and the careful, disciplined way he carried himself. Leaving behind a remembrance that is both enduring and deeply felt.
