Marilyn Jean Sheldon, 79, of Melbourne died Thursday (5/8) at her home. A native of Glouster, Ohio she came to the Melbourne area in 1993 from Raleigh, NC. Marilyn was a Methodist and had graduated from Athens High School in 1952. Her focus was always on her family and would spend much of her time coloring with her grandchildren and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: James; sons: Gregory (Ruth) of Melbourne, William of Indian Harbour Beach; daughter: Carla (Darrell) Drake of Springfield, Ohio; brother: Robert Bricker of Guysville, Ohio; sisters: Shirley Hollandsworth of Columbus, Ohio, Carolyn Cottrill of Logan, Ohio, Patricia (Edward) Foster of Lancaster, Ohio, Lynda (William) Martin of Athens, Ohio, Pamela Bricker of Guysville, Ohio; grandchildren: Heather (Steven) Wright, Sonya (Christoper) Hicks, Larisah, Brittany (Joseph) Chesnut, Lindsey, Shane Cline, Analise Kukelhan, Janna Kukelhan; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and Nephews.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, friends donate in Marilyn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s organization that gave her such good care; Joes Club, 4676 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
