Michael James Baird

Michael James Baird, entered Heaven on January 1, 2016 at 4:05am with peace, joy and anticipation. Mike was born in Portland, Maine on September 10, 1952. He graduated from Cheverus High School in 1970. He graduated from Valley Forge Christian College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree and a “Who’s Who” award in recognition of outstanding merit and accomplishment. Mike was a youth pastor in Cleveland, Ohio in the 70’s. He returned home and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Business Administration. Mike worked at the Portland, Maine City Hall in the finance department.

Mike married the love of his life, Debi Barkhymer, 1982. Mike and Debi moved to Florida in 1986 with their new son, Tom. Jessica followed four years later. Mike worked at: Hayman, Oswalt, Kirt, Golden Enterprise, Forte Macaulay Development Consultants, Inc. as a financial advisor. He was currently employed at Christian Care Ministry in the financial department.

Mike loved children, he was a soccer referee, enjoyed playing softball on the Calvary Chapel Team. Mike was always smiling, always encouraging, and a sweet , sweet man. Loved by many, he will be greatly missed.

Michael is survived by his children, Tom and Jess both of Palm Bay a brother Charles; sister Louise and her husband Steve; his sister-in-law Sharon and husband Wayne; and various nieces and nephews.

Mike is predeceased by the love of his life, Debi in June 2012.

A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel in Melbourne, 2955 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida 32904, at 1:00PM Friday, January 8, 2016.
