

Mildren Guzman Bigornia, 96, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Palm Bay, Florida surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 8, 1929 in Dolores, Abra, Philippines, she was the youngest of 4 children of Fortunata Quintinita and Melecio Guzman. She was predeceased by her parents and three older siblings; Lydia Q. Guzman-Pichay, Manuel Q. Guzman, and Rodrigo Q. Guzman. She lived a life defined by devotion to her family, her faith, her students, and the many people whose lives she touched with her kindness.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 76 years, Agustin B. Bigornia; their nine
children—five sons and four daughters; 21 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Mildren earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at Far Eastern University in Manila,
Philippines and dedicated the early part of her life to teaching elementary school in the Abra
school districts. In February 1969, she immigrated to the United States of America, beginning a
new chapter of opportunity and sacrifice for her growing family. She lived in New York City for
21 years, working for Metropolitan Life until her retirement in 1988. After retiring, she and her
beloved husband made their home in Palm Bay, Florida, where they spent their later years
together.
A woman of warmth and quiet strength, Mildren found joy in life’s simple but meaningful
pleasures—singing, dancing, caring for children, and tending to her garden. Her nurturing spirit
and gentle presence made every home she entered feel brighter and every person she met feel
seen.
Her legacy lives on in the generations she raised, guided, and inspired. Mildren’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
