Oscar Wellesley Boyd, of Palm Bay, FL died Friday April 12, 2013 after a period of illness. A native of Jamaica, West Indies he immigrated to the United States and settled in New York City. He was a graduate of Mico Teachers College in Jamaica and Brooklyn College in New York. His working years were spent as a dedicated teacher in both Jamaica and the New York City Public School System. He retired from his Job at the New York City Board of Education in 2000 and moved to Palm Bay, Florida in November 2001. Oscar was 80 years old at the time of his passing. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Blessed Redeemer.
He left behind his wife Carmen, children Errol and Phylippa, two brothers, three sisters, grandchildren,nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Blessed Redeemer, 1225 DeGroodt Road, Palm Bay. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the service time. Donations in memory of Oscar should be made to the Episcopal Church of the Blessed Redeemer, P. O.
