Robert Burton Spence passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025 in Vero Beach, FL at the age of 92. Bob will be lovingly remembered by Maria, his wife of 69 years. Bob and Maria’s children include Rieann Spence-Gale (Jim Gale) in Vero Beach FL, Randall (Rusti) in Roswell GA, Robert W. (Sandy) in Indialantic FL, and Carrie Biddle (Dave) in Silver Spring MD. Bob also had 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bob was an Army Veteran, serving in Korea during the war. He was an educator over his professional years—middle school teacher, college adjunct, and elementary school principal. Before moving to Vero Beach from Homosassa FL, he sang with the Hernando Harmonizers Barbershoppers and he was the Deep South Convener for Clan MacDuff. He also volunteered for 10 years at the Homosassa Manatee Park.
