Rose was born to John Krupansky and Anna Pribis. She had an older brother Frank and a sister Mary, who passed away as a child. After a divorce her father remarried and Frances and her son Louis became part of the Krupansky family. Rose’s mother remarried and gave birth to her sister Gloria Damiano.
Rose left home at 16 and worked in New York City and various hotels up north and in southern Florida, settling in Miami in 1952. She married Harry L. Himmenger in 1953 and gave birth to Joanie Himmenger in 1954 and Kurt Himmenger in 1955. Several years later Harry’s son from his first marriage, Harry “Jules” Himmenger came into her life.
Jules and his wife Carol have 3 children (Rose’s grandchildren) Kim (Chris) Farrell, Julie (Tom) Antle and Chris Himmenger. Joanie has a son Brent Himmenger. Rose’s great-grandchildren are Emily (Jake) Zampagna, Kayla Farrell, Lindsay Farrell, Isaac Farrell, Gabrielle Spencer, Jillian Spencer, Amber Antle and Tommy Antle. Her great-great-granddaughter is Brooklyn Zampagna and a great-great grandson is due in August.
Rose became a nurse in the late 1960’s (a lifelong dream) and worked at Mercy Hospital in Miami before retiring in 1987. She moved to Palm Bay in 1988 and spent time volunteering at Palm Bay Hospital and various other organizations. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal church and an avid crocheter, spending many hours making veteran lap pads.
Rose’s family wishes to thank the many people at Health First Home Health and Hospice for helping her get through these past few months and to Carolyn Wilt and Fr Steve for helping her spiritually.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brevard County Animal Shelter or Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
