

Warren James Feltz Sr.,88 years old, of Vero Beach, FL was born June 25, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA to Stanley and Maude Feltz, and died January 26, 2015 in Vero Beach after losing his battle with cancer.
Warren served in the U.S. Navy during WW2 as a Helmsman aboard the USS Fitch. Among the first vessels to bombard the beaches of Normandy France on D-day, June 6, 1944, he and the crew of the USS Fitch came to the aid of fellow sailors of the stricken Destroyer USS Corry while under heavy fire from enemy positions on the beach.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed time with his family whenever he could. He excelled in his career as a self-employed contractor who counted among his accomplishments restoration work on The Liberty Bell, cabins at Valley Forge National Historic Park and the Driftwood Inn in Vero Beach, FL as well as building numerous estate homes in the John’s Island community of Vero Beach.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Eleanor (Connelly) Feltz and son, Steven Robert Feltz. He is survived by his son Warren J. Feltz Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Ocklawaha, FL, daughter Valerie (Feltz) Guzowski and husband Tim of Sebastian, FL, daughter Diane (Feltz) Dionne and husband Richard of Katy, TX, eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and his long-time companion Earline “Babs” Hanna.
Warren will be dearly missed by his family, loved ones and friends in the community. His devotion to his family and country knew no limit. May he be at peace with his beloved Eleanor and his son Steven once again.
