

He is predeceased in death by his first wife Noella L. Eccles and is survived by their children: son Mark Eccles of Hanson, Massachusetts; daughter Michele Eccles and her husband Ernie Nascimento of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; and daughter Gale Foltz and her husband Mark Sentner of Newport, Rhode Island and granddaughter Shannon Foltz. He is also survived by his second wife Brunetta Jara Eccles of Palm Bay, Florida and her children and grandchildren: Rudy Jara and his wife Donita Jara and their children Rudy and Allison Jara; Nancy Jara Badolato and her husband Doug Badolato and their children Ryan and Krista Badolato; Christine Jara Natale and her husband Louis Natale and their children Austin and Christopher Natale, Robert Jara and wife Vanessa Jara and children Brooke and Haley Jara.
Originally from Mattapoisett, Massachusetts where he met Noella, Bill worked as a police officer and they owned and operated a nursery school before moving to Tiverton, Rhode Island. Bill also served in the Korean War. In Tiverton, he owned and operated The Gallery of Homes Realty and Universal Travel and Tours.
Bill’s passion was cooking, baking, and telling jokes. He often made specialty dishes and hor d’oeuvres for family and friends’ special occasions. He even catered a few weddings.
He also was a building inspector for many years before retiring to Florida with Noella in 1995. He became involved with the Palm Bay Senior Center and served on the board of directors and also volunteered his time to other committees for many years. That is where he met Brunetta Jara and they spent many happy years together traveling the world and volunteering at the senior center.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay, Florida on July 29, 2017 at 2pm.
