A graduate of Florida Southern College he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Helen, son, Mark(Rosalind) of Marietta, Ga., daughters Jane B Calhoon(Patrick) of Seminole, Cindy Lambousis(George Jr) of Marietta, Ga., Wendy Brenner(Bill) of New Port Richey, daughter-in-law Ginny Whitney of Coatsville, Pa., 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and predeceased by son, Skip Whitney.
