Dear Family of Joe:
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Joe. The Puig family has been part of our life for at least 35 years. Joe leaves so many great memories. Such a gentle and fun man!

I was a neighbor of Joe in Winter Park. He had the most wonderful sense of humor and was so nice and soft spoken. I have and will always remember him as someone I was so glad I had known. God Bless him.

While going through a painful divorce he encouraged me to get an annullment and sent me tapes on the process. One of the best things I have ever done. I remember us all in Brooklyn with hours of piano playing with his father and again in Florida. He was an important part of my life and took being my Godfather very seriously. I will always be thankful for these memories and good times together. He and my father were friends since 6 or 7 years of age.

The world has less sparkle with my best friend gone. I join friends and family in mourning our loss. I never mastered Joe's Aikido forward roll or Clark Gable impression, but the 40 years playing and laughing together and wondering, “what would Joe do” is irreplaceable. Joe was the same kind, caring, fun person at work and home.  Just hearing his name makes you smile.

I was the firstborn grandchild for Poppop and Mima. It's hard to believe that this much time has passed, but all of our amazing memories will never be forgotten. Pops taught me so much about life and the type of person I always strive to be. I'll always be his Pinky, and I know he'll be with me as I walk down the isle next September. Hope everyone enjoys this funny picture I found of the most wonderful grandparents in the world. Love you more than life Mima and Pops.

My Dad...what can I say.  You just look at him and smile.  He was always patient & kind....which means LOVE.  He was funny and happy...a wonderful piano player...smart...the BEST grandfather to my children.  They learned so much about life through him & especially how to laugh & be silly!  We were all lucky to have him in our life & we will miss him sooooo much.  My Mom is a saint & has taken such good care of him...these past five years have been very difficult for her & she is amazing!  They deserved each other!  TRUE LOVE FOREVER!  Thanks to all of our friends & family for all of the support you've given us!  Love you all!

Carol and I fondly remember Joe during a visit when we walked on the beach near their home.  Carol walked with Joe and I walked with Elaine, arm in arm.  Joe was so funny.  When we got back to the car, we had to clean the sand off of Joe's feet, we all laughed so hard.  Joe was a great partner with Elaine and we will all miss him.

We have known Joe, and his family, for many, many years.  You could not find a nicer, kinder, wiser and at times funnier man than Joe. He will forever remain in our hearts.

My favorite memory of Mr. Puig is, while attending UCF, I was taking a psychology class and asked him to discuss with me some of the curriculum I was being taught. Graciously, he agreed, and I came over one afternoon and we sat in the living room and, as always, he spoke to me as a equal, listened carefully to what I said, never interrupted, and had more of a mentor/mentee discussion that forever changed me. I think at that time I realized how truly special he was. Mr. Puig never boasted or bragged about his accomplshments, he didn't need to. He showed all of us that the distinct honor to know him that a man is defined more by his actions than his words.  I was honored to know him, and his children have become my lifelong friends.My condolences, Mrs. Puig, I hope these memories sustain you in the coming days.
