He is survived by his children Lourdes Chavez, Patricia Chavez, Samuel Chavez, his siblings Dora Chavez, Francisco Chavez, Agustina Chavez, 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jennie Martinez and daughter Elva Chavez.
