Audrey J. Hewitt

On December 3, 2025, our beloved Audrey Jeanne Hewitt (née Manning) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. At 92 years old, Audrey's life was a beautiful journey marked by kindness, strength, and quiet grace.

Born in Atlantic City, NJ, on September 14, 1933, to Harold and Zelda Manning, Audrey grew up along the Pennsylvania Railroad line, moving from Atlantic City to Chicago before settling in Havertown, PA. She became a nurse in 1955 after graduating from Philadelphia General Hospital, a calling that perfectly reflected her caring nature. Over the years, Audrey touched countless lives through her work in hospitals, summer camps, and volunteer service with the Red Cross.

In 1956, Audrey married the love of her life, Winton E. Hewitt. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising three children and sharing 69 wonderful years of marriage. Audrey was the heart of her family; steady, loving, and always ready with a gentle smile or a witty remark that could lighten any moment.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely. Audrey is survived by Winton, her children Carol (Richard), Tom (Kathleen), and Janet (Scott, her grandchildren Brian, Christopher (Sarah), Matthew (Karisa), and Jessica, and her great-grandchildren Cecelia, Silas, Finnin, Colter, and a new little one arriving soon.

Audrey's calm spirit and quiet strength will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She taught us the true meaning of compassion and grace, and her memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives.
