Born in 1930, in Maud, OK, Bobbie was the oldest child of the late Earl and Evelyn (née Moore) Watts. Bobbie attended the University of Oklahoma from 1948-50 and spoke affectionately of her childhood growing up as the daughter of a funeral home director/owner in Konawa, OK. She was the valedictorian of the 1948 graduating class at Konawa High School and played the flute in both her high school and college marching bands. Bobbie married Gordon E. Hillhouse on October 7, 1950, and they lived in Tulsa, OK until relocating to Berwyn, PA in 1970 for Gordon’s job at Sunoco, where they raised their two sons. Bobbie was an active volunteer at church and in the communities she lived and could be found serving alongside Gordon at Paoli Presbyterian Church’s food pantry to help reduce food insecurity. From a young age, Bobbie enjoyed playing the piano and organ for church, wedding, and funeral services, and throughout her life she was an avid gardener and collector of antiques including decorative plates, bowls, and depression glass. She also had an extensive collection of cow creamers and spoons she acquired when traveling the world with Gordon and fondly shared the stories behind them. Outside her collections, Bobbie enjoyed caring for others through her gift of hospitality and was generous with her time, resources, and words of encouragement. She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon E. Hillhouse; loving mother of David (Aria) and Brent (Julie); proud Grandmom of seven grandchildren; great-grandmother of seven; and dear sister of Loretta Winkler, Wayne Watts, and Drew Watts. Bobbie was predeceased by sister Earlene Whitaker. A private family memorial will be held on January 27, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New London Counseling Center, 1016 State Road, Lincoln University, PA 19352 or online at https://www.newlondoncounselingcenter.com
