George William Huggler, 87, of Malvern, PA and Beach Haven, NJ, passed away on March 3, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1937 in Bryn Mawr, PA to George and Salley Huggler. He was the loving husband of Linda Webster Huggler and father to Pam and Julie and his son-in-law John. He was “Poppy” to Andrew, Alex, and Ava, Ted and Eric.
George is survived by his brother David and sister-in-law Ann and their two children. His sister Tobie is deceased.
George graduated from Radnor High School and Penn State University with a degree in economics. He was a member of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Friends met at SAE formed the core of a lifetime of friendships.
George spent 40 years of his career braving a 60-mile round trip to commute to his office's Philadelphia headquarters and was thrilled to have a shorter commute to Valley Forge office for another eight years. His colleagues say they remember his humor and honesty in his dealing with co-workers and clients throughout his 48 year in financial services.
George’s greatest passion was fishing and boating in Barnegat Bay. He began clamming at 12 years old and sold his clams to the local fishery. He fished many tournaments up and down the east coast. He was always ready with a story about the old days in Beach Haven whether working as a postman or sitting in the walk-in freezer with a beer and some good company before the days of air conditioning.
Summer weekends at the shore were a whirlwind of early fishing trips and late parties with friends, children, and dogs.
He was an avid hand ball player and played most week days at lunch time.
