George C. Morelli

George was born in Malvern, PA, January 4, 1921 to Mary J. and Carmine Morelli.

George was a graduate of the Berwyn High School and attended the Malvern Preparatory School.

He earned the degree of Doctor of Optemetry at the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry in Philadelphia.

George was a WWII Veteran, served in North Africa and in Italy, and served three years with the U.S. Army Medical Department in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. In the United States he acted as surgical technician in the eye operating rooms at Valley Forge General Hospital and also served in the Medical Department at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, DC.

Dr. Morelli had a successful Optometry practice in Wayne, PA and was active in several Optometrical societies and has been active in The Wayne Lions Club where he served as President in 1982-1983.

For 42 years Dr Morelli has been a retreatant with The Men of Malvern at the Malvern Retreat house.

He was a longtime member of St. Katherine of Siena Parish in Wayne

Dr. Morelli is survived by his wife Gloria (née Civitella) Morelli of Wayne, PA as well as 4 Morelli siblings, Esther, Charles, Joseph and John.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 6:00 PM TO 8:00 PM at Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 East Lancaster Ave., Paoli, PA 19301.

A morning Viewing will be held at St. Katherine of Siena, Lancaster in Wayne from 10:00 AM to 10:45AM .

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Katherine of Siena on Thursday June 12 at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers Dr. Morelli's family asks that memorial contributions be made to St Jude's Hospital for Children.
