Born in 1934 to Angelo and Elvira (Cippola), Joe grew up in Wayne, PA with his 7 siblings. He married his longtime love Patty and raised 3 children Joseph R, Leonard F, and Lisa Ann in Malvern and then Chester Springs.
Joe Jr (Mary) reside in Stevensville, MD and have 2 sons Joseph, Anthony (Emma) and children Cayleigh Belle, Addison Caroline, and newborn Anthony Jr.

Lisa Samms-Catania (James) resides in Coatesville, PA and has 1 daughter, Patricia Ann Samms who resides in Malvern, PA.
A lifetime resident of Chester County, Joe worked in Paoli as a machinist at Continental Can Company, which later became the Ludlow Corporation then Graphic Packing. A member of the United Steel Workers, he retired in 1997 after 45 years of employment.
Joe was a consummate mechanic, skilled in just about everything ranging from cars and masonry to woodworking. In his younger years he and his brothers would tinker with automobiles, rebuild engines and compete in a drag race or two. He could and did fix just about anything. He kept a watchful eye on contractors when they came to the house for a project. One could find him close to the action and a step away (sometimes in the way) of projects they were hired to do. The man loved to be creative and busy and consistently had a project or 2 in the works.
Joe was passionate and especially proud about his Italian heritage. Aside from listening to Frank Sinatra, nothing brought him greater happiness and even greater pride than his 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed pillow fights with great-granddaughters Cayleigh and Addy, but sadly was not able to meet newborn AJ due to the pandemic. Picnics and parties with both sides of his extended family meant a great deal to him and was especially fond of clam bakes and beers with the men. Sunday golf and trips to Myrtle Beach with his brothers and close friends were among his favorite activities. In his later years he learned to cook up a mean pot of spaghetti sauce and even made his own pasta.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, interment will be private for immediate family only on Friday May 1st. Pastor Alex Becker from Covenant Presbyterian Church, Malvern, PA. will officiate the ceremony.
