Patricia Hughes

Pat , age 83, died March 30, 2012, at Shannondell, in Audobahn Pa. following five lymphomas and dementia over the past five years.

She was born May 8, 1928 in Chicago to Harold and Kathryn Vos, grew up in a Chicago suburb, Tulsa Ok. And Grand Rapids Mich. where her father was Controller for RC Allen Business Machines and her mother a magazine editor. Pat met her husband, Richard H. (also “Pat Hughes), on a blind date in September of 1948 at Northwestern University. They married in July of 1950. Their daughters are Jeanne of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, and Barbara of Collegeville Pa. Granddaughter is Kelli Gates, of Eagleville, and great grandchildren are Karrah Allen and Brian Gates. Pat also has a sister Barbara who lives in Birmingham AL.

Pat spent her adult years as an active volunteer including : Red Cross Blood Program, 45 years; Neighborhood League in Wayne , Board of Directors, and clothing shop manager; and the Main Line Unitarian Church . After her children were grown she took courses and became an interior decorator.

A memorial service will be held May 5th at 11am at Main Line Unitarian Church, 816 S. Valley Forge Rd. Devon Pa. 19333. The family requests that any remembrances of Pat be sent to the MLUC. Endowment Fund
