

Richard E. “Rick” Beatty Jr., 58, of King of Prussia PA, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s on August 7th, 2016. Rick was the loving husband of Melanie (nee Kaplan) and the son of Joan and the late Richard E. Beatty Sr. Rick was born January 5, 1958 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Millersville University where he earned a degree in education. After completing his degree he worked in furniture installation and repair for Spectrum and A. Pomerantz & Co. Later, he went on to start his own business, Beatty Design & Construction. In his free time he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed coaching and playing hockey, photography, woodworking, and camping. He also was a typical Philadelphia sports fanatic and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his two sons Richard Beatty III and Andrew (Courtney) Beatty and his grandpuppy, Duncan, sister Debra Harmon, brother Stephen (Debbie) Beatty, sister Sue Beatty, and sister Karen (Rick) Saldutti, 9 nieces and nephews, and 7 great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to celebrate Rick’s life with Visitation from 10am-11:55am and a Memorial Service from 12pm-12:45pm on Monday August 15th at Alleva Funeral Home; 1724 East Lancaster Ave Paoli, PA 19301.
