OBITUARY
Richard, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2019. He was born on December 16, 1934 in Audubon, New Jersey. Beloved husband of Sally Ann Butler Spargo of Chesterbrook, PA. Loving father of Pamela Lee Zieger (Gary), Richard, Jr (Rita Borzillo) and Walter (Bonnie). Proud grandfather of RJ (Sydney), Lucia, Adam and Spencer. Brother of Christine Schloegel (Joseph).
In June 1953, he met the love of his life, Sally Ann Butler. They were married in September 1956 and were happily married for over 63 years.
Richard will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband and father, as a humorist and as a proud patriot and Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Sergeant. After serving his country, he resided in Marlton, New Jersey and was a volunteer fireman and Captain of the First Aid Squad. He retired from RCA in Cherry Hill, New Jersey in 1990 and moved to Palmyra Virginia. He returned to the Main Line area in 2001 to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening but his greatest joy was attending the numerous events of his grandchildren.
He was a strong patriarch of his family and a good friend to all. Richard was a strong, proud and good man. He is loved and will be missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation at Washington Memorial Chapel (2000 Valley Forge Park Road, King of Prussia, PA. 19406), Friday, June 7, 2019 from 10am to 11 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment immediately following at the cemetery at Washington Memorial Chapel.
