Rodney E. Olsen, of Malvern, PA passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025. He was the husband of Jo Olsen. Rodney was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Devon, PA. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage. In addition to his wife Jo, he is survived by three children: James (Teresa), Richard and Kristin Shuttlesworth (Jamie), and two grandchildren. He was also owner of German Shepherd named Honda. He was predeceased by his father, Larvel Olsen, mother Margaret Olsen (Conaway) and brother Richard Lee Olsen. He is also survived by sister Patricia Resseman (Denny) and many nieces and nephews.
Rodney was born in Jamestown, ND, moved to Spokane, WA and then moved to St. Paul, MN. He worked as an electrical draftsman for the Great Northern Railroad. After that, he then had a long career as a sales executive focusing on the railroad industry as his customer base. It was his sales career that brought him to the Philadelphia area in 1968 after a brief stay in Niles IL.
He attended Macalester College and was a member of the Air National Guard. He loved dogs and owned many over his lifetime and enjoyed walking them in the neighborhood.
