Thomas D. Alleva

Born in Devault, PA, he was the son of the late Dominic Alleva and Mary Alleva (née Fillippo).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Connie Alleva (née Fitzsimons); his daughters, Dr. Annette M. Alleva and Renee Alleva (late Bradley Hughes); and his cherished granddaughters, Kelsey and Rylee Hughes. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Alfonso “Funzy” Alleva, Helen Faggioli, and Lucy Fake.

Thomas graduated from Conestoga High School in 1956. In 1959, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served with the Army Corps of Engineers (#806).

That same year, he married his wife, Connie. They spent their early years together in Fort Benning, Georgia, before returning home to Devault.

Tommy worked as an excavating contractor, later owned Alleva Auto Repair, and went on to spend more than 30 years as an independent contractor in the trucking industry. He retired at the age of 86.

Known affectionately as Tommy or Uncle Tom, he was a beloved member of both his family and community. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strong work ethic, and sense of humor. He deeply valued family and took great pride in an honest day’s work. In his free time, he enjoyed camping and fishing in Egg Harbor, NJ. During the winter months, he relaxed and fished in Fort Pierce, FL—places where he created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Tommy was a trusted source of advice for many and was widely respected for his integrity. He loved bringing people together and treasured family gatherings. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and ‘Pop-Pop’ who found his greatest joy in the happiness and companionship of his family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thomas’s life at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Chester Springs. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
