

Born in Chester, PA she is the daughter of the late John and Victoria Rutkowski nee Wawraszka
Victoria married Forrest in 1959 and his medical career took them to Norfolk, VA, Chicago, IL, Valparaiso, IN., Pittsburgh, PA. and then to Berwyn, PA. where they have lived for the past 26 years. She was a tireless community worker in all the places she lived.
Victoria had a lifelong love of learning and continued her education after graduation from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA., by getting a BA degree from Chatham College: Masters degree from Indiana University of PA: a Masters degree from Columbia University as well as a Doctorate in Adult Education from Columbia University. She was the Dean of Adult and Continuing Education at Neumann University in Aston, PA. from 1987 to 2001. While at Neumann she was president of PAACE, Pennsylvania Association of Adult and Continuing Education.
After retiring she continued to pursue her passion for travel by visiting almost every continent.
She is survived by her loving husband, Forrest, her son Geoffrey and his wife Jenny of Silver Springs, MD. and her granddaughter Abigail of Berwyn, PA. and grandson Charles Slackway.
Victoria was a devout Catholic and spent countless hours at St Norbert’s Catholic Church in Paoli, PA where she was a Eucharistic Minister, served on the Stewardship Committee, was a member of the Faith Sharing, Alpha, Act 6, and Outreach Programs. Victoria was also a quiet philanthropist.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday April 10, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM in the Oratory of St Norbert’s Catholic Church, 50 Leopard Road Paoli, PA 19301 and a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 10 AM preceded by a viewing from 9 to 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Victoria’s name to Bethesda Project Development Department 1630 South Street Philadelphia, PA 19146.
