Carolyn's early years were spent in Texas, where she was born, and Arizona, where she grew up. It was in Texas that she met her beloved husband, Stanton Winstryg, with whom she shared a loving marriage that began on December 18, 1961, and was later sealed in the London Temple. Together, they raised a family filled with love and warmth, including their children Sharon Dryer, Sandy Johnson, Sheryl Graul, Sherry Asano, Glenn Winstryg, Susann Gates, and Sig Winstryg.
In her retirement years, Carolyn devoted herself to her passions for crafting and family history. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, nurturing them with the same love and care she bestowed upon her own children. Her days were often filled with lunches shared with friends and crafting projects that reflected her quiet creativity.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carolyn was deeply involved in her church community. She also enjoyed outings with fellow residents at the Cedarhurst Senior Living Center, where her gentle and caring nature touched the lives of many.
Carolyn's faith was central to her life, and she instilled these values in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy is one of quiet strength and unwavering kindness, qualities that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on January 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 12009 S 84th Street, Papillion, Nebraska. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am at the same location. A committal service will take place at 1:30 pm at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, Nebraska.
