Cecil J. "Sonny" Sears

Meeting his wife, Mary, as a teenager, their marriage spanned 62 years and they raised three daughters with unwavering love and support.

Sonny loved working outside - in the dirt. He began farming in Atlanta, Missouri soon after he and Mary married. His next adventure was a successful bulldozing business. Soon his knowledge and talent were recognized and he was asked to sell heavy equipment. The family moved from Atlanta, MO to Sedalia, MO and later to Norfolk, NE and finally Omaha, NE where he continued his career.

In his retirement years, Sonny enjoyed travel and camping, playing cards with friends, riding his scooter with his scooter buddies, helping neighbors, serving at church and spending time with his family.

Sonny passed away due to terminal cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time as possible with his family. On his final day, he was surrounded by loved ones - just as he had wished.

Sonny is proceeded in death by Parents: John & Inez Sears. Son in Law: Fran Alberts. In-Laws: Dee & Helen McDuffee.

Survived by Wife of 62 years, Mary. Daughters: Marla Alberts. Justina Sears, Delight Sears. Grandchildren: Kyle Alberts (Shadee Danesh), Sara (David) Williams, Hannah (Zayne) Connatser, Weston (Haley) Schmitt, Allison Schmitt. Great Granddaughter: Stella Williams. Sisters: Linda (Jim) McHenry, Tamara (Kent) Mulford. Brother: Richard (Susan) Sears. Many Nieces, Nephews other Relatives and Friends.
