Born to the late Charles J. Ortleb and Nora V. Ortleb, Denis lived a life defined by service, integrity, and love for his family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Young.
Denis proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, where his leadership and dedication left a lasting legacy. He served in the Air Force for 22 years. Before joining the Air Force, Denis earned his degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.
He shared 56 devoted years of marriage with his loving wife, Jean M. Ortleb. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two sons: Denis P. Ortleb (Shannon) and David C. Ortleb (Melanie, MD). Denis was a proud and deeply involved grandfather to Cassidy, Kim, London, Brooks, and Willow. Denis is also survived by his brother, Peter Ortleb.
Denis will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, sharp intellect, quick wit, and, above all, his deep devotion to his family and country. His legacy of honor and love will live on through the many lives he touched.
