DJ was birthed August 31st of 1973 in Lafayette, Indiana, to Pamela Morgan. He emerged ready to flip people off and cause a hilarious, refreshing ruckus. His humor and free spirit were infectious. DJ didn’t know a stranger and took life’s challenges in stride, refusing to let them conquer him. He loved fiercely and laughed frequently. A perpetual optimist, DJ made all who knew him better people. Art and music spoke to him deeply. He loved collecting, thrifting, reading, and, perhaps most importantly, squeezing every minute he could from his day to spend with his family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his son, Ethan Adkins; daughter, Olivia Adkins; mother, Pamela Morgan; sister, Angela Adkins-Miller and her husband, Daniel Miller; brother, Tommy Bastable; sister, Anita Daniels and her husband, Dave. DJ had five nieces: Ally Chavis and her husband, Joe; Cassady Miller and her husband, Dylan Pflanz; Sadie Miller and her husband, Stephen Quinn; Gabriella Miller; Ashley Daniels; six nephews: Tristan Miller, Hagan Miller, Maddox Miller, Thomas Bastable, Christopher Daniels, and Nathan Daniels; along with uncles, cousins, second cousins, and more friends than one can imagine.
A celebration of DJ’s life will be held at Copps Pizza, 7474 Towne Center Pkwy #101, Papillion, NE on February 22nd from 6-9PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI.org) on his behalf.
