He was born in Rochester, NY on November 23, 1954. In high school, he played trumpet in the band, had lead roles in school musicals, and was involved in his church. All of this laid the groundwork for his future. He served in the USAF stationed at Offutt in Bellevue, NE working on the mainframe computers from 1972-1977. He received a BM in Music Education from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1981. His last undergraduate class was a drama class where he met his wife, Deborah Bowers. They were married in 1982. Kip taught high school band and choir for 11 years and then went back to computers as an Apple Bench Tech, Sitel, ConAgra Foods and received a master’s degree at Bellevue University in Information Systems and Security. To his great joy, he returned to teaching at Bellevue University and led their Systems Networking Administration Program (SNAP).
The loves of his life were his Lord Jesus Christ, his wife Debbie and daughter Anna.
He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Pringle Kippley and his father George F. Kippley Jr. He is survived by his wife Deborah Bowers Kippley, Ed.D., Anna Kippley Howard and her husband Benjamin K. Howard, his sister Victoria Yare, her husband Ken Yare, Niece Kendra and husband Brian O’Keefe and nephew David and wife Nicole Yare, great nephews Cian & Cade O’Keefe and great niece Tessa Rose Yare. His beloved Aunt Agnes Tedd also survives him.
The service for the celebration of Kip’s life on earth will be Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Humanities Building Auditorium, Bellevue University at 4 PM. It is located in Bellevue at Galvin Road and Lloyd St. A reception will follow in the Student Union.
