

Joseph Robert Hancock, a cherished, loved, and hard-working individual, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 18, 1939, Joseph was known for his honesty and dedication throughout his life.
Joseph grew up on a farm in Evans, Missouri, and graduated from high school in 1958 in Ava, Missouri. His early life was marked by a strong work ethic and a deep connection to his rural roots.
For over 30 years, Joseph worked as a truck driver, earning the prestigious million-mile safe driver award. He was also the owner of a Dr. Vinyl franchise for 38 years, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to his career.
In 1958, Joseph married Georgia (Williams), and together they raised three sons: Terry (Marilyn), Doug (Renee), and David (Courtney). He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Jessica (Brett) Scheuler, Christy (Josh) Thompson, Amanda (Josh) Beerman, JD (Danielle) Hancock, Jonathan Hancock, Daniel Hancock, Chris Koenig, Ben (Erin) Koenig; and twelve great-grandchildren, always cherishing the time spent with his family.
Joseph had a passion for bluegrass music and stock car racing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. His involvement in the community included membership in Empty Tomb Ministries and active participation with retired drivers from Consolidated Freightways.
Known for his hard work and humor, Joseph was always ready with a joke and loved his family deeply. His legacy is one of dedication, love, and a life well-lived.
