

Kenneth R. Mach, 70, of Papillion, Nebraska died August 9, 2015. Ken was born May 14, 1945 in Burwell, Nebraska to James and Libbie (Bartos) Mach. Ken was baptized in the First Christian Church in Burwell. During his high school years, he worked at McMullens IGA & the Burwell Tribune. He graduated from Burwell High School in 1963. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Missouri in Colombia to study linotype. He returned to Burwell, and he worked with the Burwell Tribune. In 1966 Ken followed his brother-in-law Eldon and left the Tribune and began working for the State of Nebraska Department of Vehicle. Ken resided in Lincoln, Nebraska and here he met his wife Jackie. Ken married Jacqueline Peppie on September 23, 1967 in Ohiowa, Nebraska. In 1970, they moved from Ashland to Papillion where they were blessed with 2 children Tiffany & Todd. Ken was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. Ken & Jackie were active in the Papillion community where Ken was involved in PRO (Papillion Recreation Organization) where he coached boys soccer and was always seen grilling during Papillion Days. Ken became involved with the Papillion Fire Department April of 1991. Ken had great pride with PVFD where he served as President for 9 years. Ken was blessed with 2 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Ken was a devoted grandparent who was busy spending time with them taking in baseball games, tennis matches, hunting & fishing trips, and enjoyed camping. Ken retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles as District Supervisor in 2011 after 45 years of services. Ken always had a love for animals and enjoyed both pets Remington, Biscuit, and Furby, and his special “granddaughters” Greta and Dottie, whom visited him frequently in place of doggy daycare. His parents, James & Libbie Mach of Burwell, and sister, Shirley Maxson of Central City, preceded Ken in death. He is survived by wife, Jackie; daughter Tiffany Vieth of Grand Island, son Todd Mach & wife Amy; grandchildren Kelby & Dalton; step grandchildren Collin, Sean & Sophia; brother Edwin & wife Paula Mach of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews. . Funeral Services: Sat Aug 15 at 10:30 am Trinity Lutheran Church - Family Life Center, 520 W Lincoln St. Papillion. Visitation: Friday at Trinity Life Center from 3 – 7 pm. Interment Cedar Dale Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or PVFD, Inc.
