It is with deep and utter sorrow that we announce the death of our daughter, Lennix Roux Dacy. Lennix passed away on July 2, 2024, following a six-month battle with a rare and aggressive form of pediatric cancer.
Lennix was born to Jill and Byron Dacy on December 7, 2022, in Omaha, Nebraska. From day one, she showed us the value of laughter and joy. Throughout her battle, Lennix continued to smile, laugh, and play each day until the very end. Lennix was such a light for her family and beloved by not only her mother and father but also her brother, Daxton.
Lennix loved to be outside. She enjoyed trips to the zoo, playing with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and her water table. She never met a swing or slide she did not like. An instant smile came to her face with every dog she saw, and she would light up even more if she was allowed to pet it. She loved ending the day with a trip to Dairy Queen to get her favorite – ice cream!
So many made note of Lennix’s strength. As her parents, we often saw the moments of struggle from which her strength was built. Lennix showed perseverance, toughness, and bravery each and every day she battled this cruel disease. She quickly learned the routine to check vitals at each appointment and loved taking off the blood pressure cuff from her leg.
She did her best to do everything her brother Daxton did. Walking at 10 months was quite the accomplishment, and soon she made it her mission to conquer the stairs. Movement of any kind was her favorite, especially once we found "Danny Go!" Lennix loved dancing to all of the Danny Go! songs, but they also helped her get through some scary and difficult medical procedures.
Lennix will be remembered by her loving parents, Jill and Byron, her brother Daxton, her puppy Khloe; her maternal grandparents, Bruce and Lori Clymer (Gothenburg, NE), paternal grandparents, Patric and Stefanie Dacy (Redondo Beach, CA), her loving aunts Josie Clymer and Jennie (Damon) Benning, her uncles Lucas Dacy, Dominique (Jocelyn) Dacy, and Elijah (Brianne) Dacy; great-grandparents Larry Ostergard (Gothenburg, NE) and Aurora Johnson (Palm Springs, CA). She will be greatly missed by cousins Lillian Dacy, Emery Dacy, Isaac Dacy, Ryder Dacy, Remy Dacy, Aurora Dacy, Mya Sohl, Caleb Benning, Micah Benning, and Zoey Benning, all of Omaha, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her beloved puppy, Dottie, her great-grandmothers, Jean Clymer, Joan Ostergard, and Patricia Dacy, and great-grandfathers, Paul Johnson, Gene Dacy, and Louis Clymer.
A visitation has been planned from 4:00 to 6:00 on Saturday, July 6, at Kahler-Dolce funeral home in Papillion, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 7 (Lennix's 19-month birthday), at First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, with an ice cream social to follow.
As we continue on with our lives with only dreams of what might have been, please help us remember our sweet Lenni-Roux by sharing your memories and love for her.
