Nancy was born on September 13, 1958 in El Paso, TX and grew up in Texas, Hot Springs, AR, and Milbank, SD. She also lived in Sioux Falls and Rapid City, SD and Plattsmouth, Omaha, Papillion, and Bellevue, NE.
Nancy’s profession and passion in life was providing valuable assistance as a Mental Health Professional and Drug Addiction Counselor in Rapid City, SD, Glenwood, IA, and Omaha, NE. While she lived in Milbank she was busy raising her two sons, working at various locations, and continuing her education, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Huron University. After moving to Sioux Falls, she continued her education, earning her Master’s of Education and Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degrees from South Dakota State University while continuing to raise her two boys. Nancy was also a school administrator for a couple of years.
She met Ken in 2006 and they were married December 16, 2006. They established their first home in Papillion, NE and moved to their current home in Bellevue, NE in 2011. Although they had no children together, they had the pleasure of a blended family with her two sons and Ken’s two daughters, all of whom she loved dearly.
Due to severe health issues, Nancy was forced to give up her loved profession as a Mental Health Counselor and Drug Addiction Counselor at PIMIC in Glenwood, IA. She never stopped her learning process and further studying in the Mental Health System with hopes of opening her own practice.
Nancy loved to travel, but her true joys in life were her sons and her grandchildren. She made many trips to Sioux Falls and Fargo to be with them. She loved playing with the grandkids, as well as reading to them and teaching them various things. Simple pleasures made Nancy very happy. Next was her love for the water. She loved swimming, and one of her favorite aquatic adventures was swimming with the dolphins. Nancy loved going to church and she did so until her health prevented her from leaving home. However, listening to Christian music and reading her Bible made her happy and content. She also loved her friends and neighbors. Nancy had a heart of gold and she would do anything to help people less fortunate than her. Some of her favorite pastimes were to cook, bake, read, take care of her plants, and her puppies.
