Theodore Fred Matteson

Theodore Fred Matteson, born on September 2, 1941, in Roseville, Illinois, passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 84. Known for being hard-working, resilient, faithful, and wise, Theodore's life was a testament to these qualities.

He grew up in Roseville, Illinois, with his mother, Helen Eileen Matteson, his father, Fred Warren Matteson, and his sisters, Pauline Vaughn, Barbara Engstrom, and Carole Melton.

Theodore was a retired Air Force Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician and served honorably in the Vietnam War. His dedication to his career and country was evident throughout his life.

He was a beloved husband to Vera Jean Matteson and a devoted father to his children, Tamara Susan Mossburg, the late Theodore Fred Matteson Jr., and Sarah Catherine Peterson. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jessica Ulrich, Chase Peterson, Brandy Mossburg, and Robert Mossburg; and great-grandchildren, Cooper Ulrich, Autumn Ulrich and Ace Peterson, Bella Peterson, Jameson and Azariah, Alania Kaylee, Kira, Adrianna, Gabriella, Rhylen, Roselyn, and Ronald.

A resident of Omaha, Nebraska, Theodore enjoyed fishing, caring for his horses, and handyman projects. He was a beloved father and grandfather, and his family was central to his life.
