Theresa Ann Small

Theresa along with her biological siblings, John & Mary, were adopted by Donald and Loreen Bird on January 26, 1965. They started their new life on a farm north of Esbon, Kansas. Theresa attended grade school and high school at Esbon and graduated in 1977. During high school she met her husband, Brad Small and married on June 18, 1977.

They welcomed their first child, Melinda on April 10, 1978. They then had their second child, Brent on September 30, 1979. Brad & Theresa then moved to Hastings, Nebraska were they welcomed their twin boys, Brandon & Brady on October 5, 1981.

Theresa & Brad moved to LaVista, Nebraska where they raised their family for 30 years. Theresa & Brad then decided to move back to Red Cloud, Nebraska to retire. After moving back, Theresa took on a career with Red Cloud Community School District. She absolutely loved working with children and loved her job.

Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Brad (March 2022); son, Brent (July 1995); sister, Mary (November 2022); dad, Donald (February 2018); and mother, Loreen (October 2022).

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Jeff) Conley of New Port Richey, Florida; sons, Brandon (Tommy) Sigler-Small of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Brady (Regan) Small of LaVista, Nebraska; brother, John (Terri) Bird of WaKeeney, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Theresa will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, 441 North Washington Street, Papillion, Nebraska 68046. An inurnment will follow at Cedar Dale Cemetery in Papillion, Nebraska.
