

Charles William “Charlie” Freeman, 78, of the Woodland Community passed away, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his home. A family directed Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2016, at The Cowboy Church. Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Mr. Freeman was born November 22, 1937 in Monkstown to Dewell E. Freeman and Neicy McAfee Freeman. He married Paula Dean Hasty on October 28, 1967, building over 48 years of family and memories. Charlie was well known as a Master Tile Setter, however, it was hard to mistake that he was first and foremost “a cowboy”. His love for the “cowboy life” could only be surpassed by the love he had for his family. Those left behind to remember him are his wife Paula; his children, John Freeman, Linda Ann Goolsby, Michael Freeman, Billy Freeman, Dana Freeman Grizzle, Tim Freeman, Chris Freeman & wife Heather and Gregg Adkins; grandchildren, Kody Grizzle & wife Mandy, Clay Grizzle & wife Shelbi, Sean Freeman & wife Hanna, Madison Freeman and Chase Freeman; two great-granddaughters, Jaxie Pitt and Sage Grizzle; two sisters, Mary Allen & husband Ervin and Bea Hall, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Juanita Freeman Jones; two brothers, James Everett Freeman and Leonard Aubry Freeman and a son-in-law, Grady Goolsby.
