Ethel McCarrell Butler, 87, of Paris, passed away Thursday, March 02, 2017, at Legend Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5th, at the Mausoleum of Meadowbrook Gardens with Richard Sharrock officiating. A formal visitation is not scheduled, however, friends and family may pay respects at the funeral home. Mrs. Butler, the daughter of Hugh Lee & Octavia Bramlett McCarrell, was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Anson, Texas. While living in Dallas she was a hairdresser and also worked in business offices in the Dallas area. Ethel was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Geneva Nye, Lois McCarrell and Juanita Tomblin and a brother, Lee McCarrell. Survivors include her son, James Russell Butler of Paris, a step-daughter, Paula Butler Stone of Canton, a brother, John Henry McCarrell of Garland along with several cousins.
