

Reverend Herbert Wayne “Herb” Bullock, Sr., 89, of Brookston passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled funeral services for 1:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2016, at Springlake Baptist Church, with Reverend Fred Fangio officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be made at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Old Waverly Cemetery, in New Waverly Texas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, from 6-7 pm, Sunday, May 8th. Reverend Bullock was born November 9, 1926 in Dresden, TN to Carl Bullock Sr. and Bertha Bailey Bullock. He proudly served his country in the Amphibious Forces of the U.S. Navy, in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Rev. Bullock married Lynn Adcock in Houston, TX in 1947, building over 68 years of family and memories. He received his B.A. degree in 1963 from The University of Corpus Christi and then attended The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. Over his 60 year ministry, Rev. Bullock pastored many churches in Texas. At the time of his death he was the pastor of Springlake Baptist Church in Paris. His greatest love was studying the Bible and preaching. He was a loving shepherd to his flock and was greatly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Reverend Charles Bullock and three brothers, Carl Jr., Phillip and Richard Bullock. Survivors include his wife, Lynn of Brookston; one son Wayne Bullock of Brookston; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Bullock of Henderson; grandchildren, Craig Bullock & wife Wendy of Austin, Steve Bullock & wife Irene of Murphy, Christine Stephenson & husband Ryan of New Albany, MS, Josh Bullock & wife Smitha of Louisville, KY, Melissa Bullock of Austin and Daniel Bullock of Jeffersonville, IN; six great-grandchildren, Justin Bullock, Blake Bullock, Brayden Stephenson, Avelee Stephenson, Jude Stephenson, Isaac Bullock, Irene Bullock and Lauren Bullock; one sister, Betty Ruth Coppinger & husband Mike of Hartford, CT; one sister-in-law, Judy Friday & husband Neal of Trinity, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Honorary casket bearers will be the Deacons of Springlake Baptist Church. Memorials in memory of Reverend Bullock may be made to Springlake Baptist Church, 3500 Clarksville St., Paris, Texas 75460.
