Kelly Renee Newberry, 46, of Detroit, Texas, departed this world on December 12, 2023, leaving behind a trail of love and memories. Born on December 14th, 1977 in Mesquite, Texas to Karen Shaw Phifer and Thomas Wayne Phifer. Kelly lived passionately, embracing life's challenges with unwavering resilience and an infectious spirit. Kelly married Patrick Newberry on April 2nd, 2004 in Detroit, Texas. Kelly was a mother to many by choice and by blood to one beautiful little girl, Paisley Grace who was her whole universe. She loved her family very deeply and was a loyal friend to many. Kelly worked for many years as a waitress and manager in restaurants throughout the area with her longest tenure at Nancy’s Cafe. During this time in her life Kelly's kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. A dedicated friend, she was always there to lend an ear or offer a helping hand. Kelly's magnetic personality and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us celebrate her life and the indelible mark they left on our hearts. Kelly was preceded in death by her grandparents Orbra Edward & Margret Shaw and Elmer & Betty Phifer, her stepfather Arthur Glen Brown, her mother-in-law Patsy Wilson, her aunts Vicki Shaw, Cathie Moore, Laura Phifer and uncles Jerry Phifer & Archie Moore. Kelly leaves behind her daughter Paisley Grace Newberry who she loved dearly, husband Patrick Newberry of Detroit, TX, mother Karen Phifer of Detroit, TX, father Thomas Phifer of Detroit, TX, a brother Cody Phifer & wife Miriam of Clarksville, TX, a brother Colby Phifer & wife Chelsey of Clarksville, TX, nieces Kathie Arteaga, Isabella Phifer & nephew David Arteaga, her dear Aunt Barbara Shaw, Uncle Bobby Phifer and Aunt Marsha Phifer. She also leaves behind many cousins who she loved dearly & many who she helped raise. She was a blessing to the world and her passing will leave a void for all that knew and loved her. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 17, 2023 in the chapel of Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Star Cemetery with James Smith, Kanyon Williams & Timmy Lester serving as honorary pallbearers and David Rowton, Blaine Phifer, Lee Phifer, Jeremy Phifer, Cody Martin and Justin Bailey serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
