

Linda Carol Penn, 66, of Mesquite passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13th, at Calvary United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery at Roxton. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Linda, the daughter of Delma “Long Boy” & Nellie Marie Pointer Churchwell, was born Aug. 27, 1948, in Paris. She graduated from Paris High School and attended Paris Junior College. Linda worked in the offices at Calvary United Methodist Church and Levines. After moving to the metroplex she worked in the offices of Munger Place United Methodist Church, Neiman-Marcus and Stevens Transport. Later she helped her husband in the family business, Lynn Penn Plumbing. Linda was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a life member of Mesquite-Galloway PTA and a member of West Mesquite PTA. She was always there to support her children in their activities at school. She and Lynn were volunteers for the Mesquite Peewee Football Association. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Peggy Jean Churchwell. Survivors include her husband Lynn Penn, whom she married on April 17, 1970, building 45 years of family and memories, two daughters, Alisa Carol Penn of Denison and Amy Lynn Bohanon & husband Larry Brooks of Irving, grandchildren, Jordan Marie House of Mesquite, Dylan Wade Bohanon of Madison, GA and Amanda Lynn Bohanon of Madison, GA along with a plethora of friends. Casket bearers will be: Jeremy Gregg, Zachary Swimm, Michael Angus, Larry Brooks, Stacey Walker and Justin Blake.
