Peggy Laurue Hurst

Peggy Laurue Hurst, 92, of Sulphur Springs, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Guille Seigler officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, one hour prior to service time, 10:00 to 11:00 am. Peggy was born July 12, 1924 in Byers, TX to George W. Dyer and Mary Louise Chittum Dyer. She married Edgar C. Hurst on May 12, 1943 and they built 64 years of family and memories before his death on March 27, 2008. Peggy retired after many years as a nurse’s aide. She dearly loved her family and she was always willing to help anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, George and Darwin Dyer and a sister, Alma Wilson. Survivors include two children, Edgar Wayne Hurst of Pasadena and Phyllis Gail Smith of Pasadena; a sister, Mary Pullins & husband George of Paris; six grandchildren, Robert Smith, Kevin Smith & wife Loretta, Ed Smith & wife Mona and Jason Smith & wife Jamie all of Pasadena, Bobby Hurst & wife Mary of Liberty and Cristy Noble & fiancée Spencer of Madison, MS; ten great-grandchildren, Alexa, Rylee, Rayvn, Kevin Jr. & wife Caylee, Sarah, Noah, Kamron and Grady Smith, Ashley Suggs & husband Cody, Cadence Augilar and Rhythm Noble; great-great grandchildren, Aubriegh, Adelyn, Clayton, Brody and Chloee, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
