Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23rd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Moore, Rev. Randall Scott and Harvey Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Garner, the son of Arthur & Julia Malone Garner, was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Lamar County.
He graduated from Cunningham High School. Troy worked for a time at the Lamar Creamery before beginning work at the Campbell Soup Company where his career spanned thirty years before his retirement.
He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
His parents, a son, Randy Garner, and a brother, R. J. Garner & wife Nellie, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Bell whom he married on Sept. 27, 1956, building sixty-one years of family and memories, a daughter, Vickie Garner Gibson & husband Harvey of Reno, a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Garner of Sumner, grandchildren; Eric Garner & wife Krista of Sumner, April Reams & husband Jake of Brookston, Amanda Cox & husband Cody of Chicota, and Kathren Dawes & husband Rodney of Colbert, OK, great grandchildren; Jared Garner, Peyton Garner, Casen Reams, Easton Reams, Revin Cox, Sydney Dawes, Taylor Dawes and Lindsey Dawes, brothers; H. W. Garner & wife Bonnie of Paris and Bob Garner & wife Sharon of Longview, several nieces, nephews and cousins along with a host of friends.
