Candace Carter

May 23, 1966 – May 23, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Candace Mari Carter, who departed this life on her 59th birthday, May 23, 2025. A devoted mother, proud grandmother, sister, auntie, and dear friend, Candace’s life was filled with strength, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and culture.

Candace was a proud member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes and also of Pima heritage, embracing her roots with honor and pride. Her presence brought warmth to every room, and her love for her family was unshakable.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Christa Carter; her four cherished grandchildren, who were the heart of her world; her niece, Talyia Carter (Tristan Knox); and their two sons, whom Candace adored like her own.

Candace is preceded in death by her father, Delano Boyd Carter, her mother, Patricia Lynn Ray, and her brother, David Carter. We take comfort knowing they welcomed her with open arms.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Parker Dignity from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a tribal procession to the CRIT Cry House.

Cremation will take place at 3:00 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in accordance with traditional customs.

Candace’s life was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and eternally cherished
