Howard Leroy Degoines

He was born January 16, 1935, in Walker, WV, a son of the late Frank and Lena (Heldreth) Degoines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Degoines; 6 sisters and two brothers.

Howard retired from the Tri-State Roofing Company with 43 years of service and also worked at Atlas Trucking. He was a member of the Roofers Union Local # 242, Mineral Wells and enjoyed working outdoors.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jeff Degoines of Walker, WV, Howard Degoines Jr., of Parkersburg; brothers, Frank Degoines Jr., James Degoines and his wife Thelma; sisters Anna Mae Stinespring, Virginia Miller, Pauline Nichols; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren and all of his friends at the Mary B’s restaurant where he was a faithful customer .

Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor John Rinehart officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
