He was born Oct, 10, 1921 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Mable Lyons and step-father, Gidion P. Lyons. He served in the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He retired from Public Debt on July 29, 1983. He attended Bible Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Griffith Miller, whom he married June 25, 1950. He is also survived by two brothers, Argil Lyons of Marietta, OH and Denzil Lyons of Vienna; and one sister, Garnet Blankenship, of Parkersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Miller and Harold Lyons; and one sister, Betty Monroe.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Dan Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
