Mary Lou Sams, 72, of Parkersburg, passed away July 7, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of Wilbur S. Lowers, Sr. and Edna Dodd Lowers of Parkersburg. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Curtis M. Sams, Jr. and wife Julia of Parkersburg; one granddaughter, Amanda Sams of Beckley; one grandson, Curtis M. Sams, III and wife Becky of Shady Spring; two brothers, Raymond R. Lowers and Roger D. Lowers of Parkersburg; one sister-in-law, Texanna O’Neill; two brother-in-laws, Larry Sams and wife Mary, Gary Sams and wife Mary; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis M. Sams, Sr.; a stepmother, Rita Lowers; three brothers, Frederick J. Lowers, Lewis L. Lowers and Wilbur S. Lowers, Jr.; one sister, Ruth A. Lowers; two sister-in-laws, Glenda Lowers and Pat Lowers and one brother-in-law, Byron A. O’Neill.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Parkersburg with visitation from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 9th, 2015. Funeral will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2015 with Dr. Randall A. Kochersperger officiating. Online tributes may be made at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
